| well today was a hard day for my family... my grandmother passed away on sunday and today we began the funeral stuff. which by the way is not easy when you are 36 1/2 weeks pregnant. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!! but on saturday i got to tell her that me and the baby would be ok... we have chad to watch out for us!! but please be praying for my dad... it was his mama and he's not taking it very well... Gladys Virginia Gibson, age 89, of Noel Lane, Black Mountain, NC formerly of the Tessentee Community, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007 at John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC. She was a native of Macon County, the daughter of the late John Clinton and Lenna Elsie Justice Smith. She was married to Pink Andy Gibson who passed away in 1985. She was a homemaker and a member of Tessentee Baptist Church.
She is suvived by three daughters, JoAnn Shope of Rabun Gap, GA, Ruth Fountain of Mountain City, GA and Linda Holland and her husband, Tony of Black Mountain, NC; one son, John Gibson and his wife, Marcia of Franklin, NC; one sister, Bernice Henry of Franklin, NC. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Bryant Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Dendy, Rev. John Makinson, and Rev. Danny Cannon officiating. Burial will be in the Wright's Cemetery. Mike, Johnny, Logan and Steve Fountain, Ricky and Jerry Shope, Logan Shipley, Chad McCoy and Terry Shepard will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryant Funeral Home.
